• Informational meeting considering the possibilities for funding in accordance with the agro-ecological actions of Measure 214 ‘Agro-ecological payments’ and the problem with the wolf attacks was held in Madzharvo

The initiative came from Milko Armutliev, mayor of Madzharovo municipality and the BSPB team from the LIFE+ project „The return of the Neophron“. The possibilities for funding in accordance with the agro-ecological actions of Measure 214 ‘Agro-ecological payments’ within the Rural Development Programme at the Ministry of Agriculture and Food, for the period 2007-2013 for farmers in Natura 2000 sites were represented from the LIFE+ project expert Edita Difova. At the event were invited farmers, livestock breeders, hunters and all citizens from Madzharovo municipality.
At the second part of the meeting Hristo Hristov, expert from „New Thracian Gold“ project made short presentation about wolves. After the discussion between hunters, Regional environment and water inspectorate Haskovo, farmers and NGO experts the decision was to be organized special hunt for this predators till the end of February in order to decrease the number of the attack in the area.
The reasonable facts and constructive discussion were parts of the whole meeting. BSPB is looking forward for future cooperation with the institutions and colleagues from other NGO about the problems and possibilities in Natura 2000 site Madzharovo.
