A Lecture: "The fate of the Egyptian vulture on the Balkans - what we know and do not know about saving him?" was held last Tuesday (02/03/2015) in Sofia, within the School of Ornithology and Nature Conservation of the Bulgarian Ornithological Centre at the Institute of Biodiversity and Ecosystem Research, BAS.

The Project manager of the LIFE+ project “The Return of the Neophron”, Stoyan Nikolov,  introduced the audience to the basic facts about the biology and ecology of the species, the main threats which made him the most endangered bird of prey in Europe and the measures and actions taken for its preservation. The last information about the use of pesticides, chemicals and poisons in the region of Rusenski Lom Nature Park was presented, as well as facts and conclusions from the study of Egyptian Vultures’ diet.
